According to kurmapurana – sun is the creater of time and soul of human beings. Among the rays that compose its body , 7 rays are highest and best of all since they form the matrics of the seven planets . We can see these 7 rays by our naked eyes in the form of 7 colours of rainbow. So everything in the universe is made of rays and radiations and has its origin in these 7 rays which is also a scientific fact today . These 7 rays or colours are violet, indigo , blue , green, yellow, orange and red. These 7 colours of the rainbow do the work of creation , maintenanace and destruction of the universe .
Sun is the condensed form of the colour red, moon is of orange , jupiter is of blue , mars is of yellow , venus is of indigo, mercury is of green, and saturn is of violet. There are 2 other invisible planets rahu and ketu with their two cosmic colours such as ultra – violet and infra red .
